The thing I like about Tim's new book is that it shows the full range of styles that he is capable of creating. It has some of his line drawing asemics, and his nebulous decalcomania.  This is a great general survey of the instincts of an asemic master at work and honing the tip of his pen. "Zen calligrapher" is what I think of this grand author's expressions, as they soar overhead and land in a field of ink and honey. This is the real thing! Get a hold of it and learn.

Poemics (POEtry + coMICS)

There are many definitions of poemics. Poemics can be understood as an art combining elements of poetry and comics, the space between poetry and comics, or a place where poetry and comics meet. Sometime poemics are classified as visual poetry, sometimes as experi- mental comics, and sometimes as both. We think poemics can be a great way of expression, perhaps that is why we create them.

What we have here are digital talismanic suggestions. In this series of vispo, design elements construct a place for you and eye to land. The dotted i returns u see. Letterforms conjure humanity in their very simplicity. These compositions rework certain concrete poetic ideas. The letters i and u undergo new permutations. It’s a satisfying jaunt through renewed verbo-visual possibilities. John Moore Williams is part of the next wave of visual poet.
